POSITION TITLE: Foreman, Painter
DEPARTMENT: Planning – IDIQ (SEHP)
POSITION REPORT TO: Superintendent, Painting
OVERVIEW:
- Receives directions from the Construction Superintendent to perform preparations and painting on a variety of facilities and equipment.
- Performs and supervises procedures as required to meet applicable standards.
- Ensures employees have the materials and equipment required to meet applicable standards.
- Handles and disposes of Hazardous Materials IAW rules and regulations.
- Ensures employees are successful in meeting the Company’s requirements to work in a safe and workman like manner while following Company Procedures and Regulations.
DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists and provides input to identify key success factors for the Painting Team to meet the project goals.
- Provides leadership to cause the creation of organizational structure and processes required to fully execute the requirements of services and is responsible for the execution of Painting services, quality, subcontractor performance, and managing construction costs.
- Evaluates Painting service execution for compliance to contract, design data, schedule, cost budgets, and quality, advising the project team of status, issues, impacts, risk, and cost influence factors on Maintains the short-range look ahead plans and discusses all deviations. to go” scope.
- Reviews and monitors cost and man-hour budget for installation process develops an equipment and tool requirement plan and reviews it. Supervises painting on a variety of facilities and equipment. Performs routine to moderately complex surface preparation, painting, and finishing tasks, applying a variety of methods, media, and techniques to both interior and exterior surfaces.
- Applies paints, sealers, and solvents to the exterior and interior building surfaces such as carbon steel, weathering steel, plaster, sheetrock, concrete, and wood. Directs Painting Team in the tasks of exterior and interior caulking, finish repair, mud and tape, and texturing tasks.
- Uses mechanized high-reach equipment to renew caulking on exterior building panel seams, windows, and doors.
- Performs special refinishing tasks including wood surface preparation, staining, and sealing. Performs minor plaster repair, blending newly renovated wall surfaces with existing plaster.
- Surveys building painting project sites to estimate time and material quantities required; selects appropriate surface coatings. Prepares surfaces as needed i.e., masking/taping, painting, de-masking/touch-up, and stenciling Prepares facilities and equipment surfaces for primer/ paint by removing rust, and unserviceable paint/primer coatings including pressure washing, chipping, sanding, and/or sandblasting.
- Manages inventory of paint materials with careful regard for expiry dates; rotates stocks as required Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Moves materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site.
- Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up/housekeeping activities.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, and professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter, and trash in all working facilities and areas.
- Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor-provided property (e.g., including government facilities, equipment, and tools).
- Responsible for the precise execution of Company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheets. Responsible to perform all assigned duties as safely and efficiently as possible to maintain a safe work environment.
- Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment.
- Performs other duties and activities as directed.
BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Skills in selecting and applying paint and associated products.
- Skills in applying coatings and/or caulking and completing repairs to the exterior and interior surfaces.
- Skills in wood surface preparation, staining, and/or sealing techniques.
- Ability to teach the proper use of hand and power tools applicable to trade.
- Ability to select, mix, and apply surface coatings that successfully match and/or restore historic interior or exterior surfaces.
- Must have knowledge and skill in hazardous materials handling, application, and disposal.
- Able and willing to work periods of long hours to meet mission and project requirements.
- Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, bending, standing, climbing, or walking.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Must speak, read, and understand the English Language.
- Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR TRAINING
- Any painting certification/s is highly desired.
EDUCATION
- Must be at least a High School, Technical, or Vocational course graduate is required.
EXPERIENCE
- Must have at least five (5) years of experience in painting various facilities and equipment as a Foreman, Lead man, or Supervisory capacity of various construction projects is required.
Basic terms of the job offer.
- Assignment Duration: 12 months. Renewal subject to performance.
- Base Monthly Salary: 48 hours per week minimum work requirement: $550.00 (based on 48 hr. work week requirement)
- Working schedule: 48 hours per week (8 hours per day/6 days a week)
- Payroll period: Monthly. Amount give take home.
- Overtime: Work more than 8 hours per day or work performed on a rest day and/or holiday, will be paid as overtime at the base salary rate.
- Accommodations: Housing, transportation, meals in-country, and laundry facilities are provided
- Sick Leave: Employee will accrue 2.67 hours of sick leave for each full month of service, beginning with the completion of the first full month of Foreign Service employment.
- Annual leave Up to 21 days paid at the end of each 12-month contract.
- Travel will be provided by the employer to the employee’s home country.

- Your driver’s license must be valid for at least 6 months (unless processing for a CDL-required position, which will require 12 months remaining).
