DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs removal, repairs, overhauls, installations, mounting, alignment, and pressure testing of various types of piping, valves, fittings, check and foot valves installed on ships, boats and barges.
- Disassembles, repairs, grinds/laps valve discs, assembles, aligns, hydro-tests and installs various types of ferrous and non-ferrous piping, foot valves, isolation valves, discharge and delivery valves installed on boats, barges and ships to include ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
- Accomplishes dynamic and static pressure test of overhauled and new valves, fitting, piping using hydraulic pumps, Records and tags tested valves, piping and hoses for customer’s verification and work performance acceptance. Fabricates and installs valve seals and gaskets, corrects piping and valve system leak as noted during pressure and operational testing.
- Measures, fabricates, sews and installs laggings on exhaust bellows, piping, mufflers, and exhaust manifold. Installs overhead and bulkhead insulations on boats, barges and ships.
BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Familiar with any type of marine and petroleum piping and valves systems.
- Knowledge in the repairs, overhaul, installations, hydro-testing of different types of piping and valves. Skilled in overhead and bulkhead insulation repairs and installation.
- Must speak, read, and understand English language, both oral and in writing.
- Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR TRAINING
- Any mechanical specialized certification preferred, but not necessary.
EDUCATION:
- High School graduation coupled with the completion of an apprenticeship or trade school.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of four (4) year experience as marine pipe and valve fitter, one (1) year of which must have been in lagging installation and repair work.
Basic terms of the job offer.
- Assignment Duration: 12 months. Renewal subject to performance and project status.
- Base Monthly Salary: 48 hours per week minimum work requirement: $525.00 (based on 48 hr. work week requirement)
- Working schedule: 48 hours per week (8 hours per day/6 days a week)
- Payroll period: Monthly. Amount give take home.
- Overtime: Work more than 8 hours per day or work performed on a rest day and/or holiday,
will be paid as overtime at the base salary rate.
- Accommodations: Housing, transportation, meals in-country, and laundry facilities are provided
- Sick Leave: Employee will accrue 2.67 hours of sick leave for each full month of service, beginning with the completion of the first full month of Foreign Service employment.
- Annual leave Up to 21 days paid at the end of each 12-month contract.
- Travel will be provided by the employer to the employee’s home country.

- Your driver’s license must be valid for at least 6 months (unless processing for a CDL-required position, which will require 12 months remaining).
