Our client a multinational organization with offices in several continents is urgently looking to fill vacancies for their operation at Diego Garcia, Indian Ocean Highland.

POSITION TITLE: LOCKSMITH
DEPARTMENT FACILITY INVESTMENT
POSITION REPORT TO: CARPENTER/PAINTER SUPERINTENDENT

 

DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Repairs and opens locks, makes keys, and changes lock combinations, using hand tools and special equipment.
  • Disassembles locks, such as: padlocks, safe locks, door locks, and repairs or replaces worn tumblers, springs, and other parts.
  • Moves lockpick in cylinder to open door locks without keys.
  • May keep records of company locks and keys.
  • Installs, adjusts and services locks and related equipment.
  • Prepares labor and material estimates.
  • Shortens tumblers and inserts new or repaired tumblers into lock to change combination.
  • Cuts new or duplicate keys using key machine, patterns, or codes.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
  • Performs other duties and activities as directed.
  • May work on special Projects and assist with in other Projects as needed.

 

 BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Must have knowledge of the techniques for keying, repairing, installing and servicing locks and related hardware.
  • Must speak, read, and understand the English Language.
  • Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.
  • Must have a valid Professional Driver’s License with at least Restriction Code 2.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR TRAINING

  • Must be qualified at the journeyman level and be a registered locksmith capable of providing total locksmith services including high security locks.
  • Must have the ability to gain GSA and KABA X10 certification

EDUCATION:

  • Must be at least High School, Technical, or Vocational Course graduate.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have at least three (3) years’ experience in locksmithing work

 

Basic terms of the job offer.

  • Assignment Duration: 12 months. Renewal subject to performance and project status.
  • Base Monthly Salary: 48 hours per week minimum work requirement: $650.40 (based on 48 hr. work week requirement)
  • Working schedule: 48 hours per week (8 hours per day/6 days a week)
  • Payroll period: Monthly. Amount give take home.
  • Overtime: Work more than 8 hours per day or work performed on a rest day and/or holiday,

will be paid as overtime at the base salary rate.

  • Accommodations: Housing, transportation, meals in-country, and laundry facilities are provided
  • Sick Leave: Employee will accrue 2.67 hours of sick leave for each full month of service, beginning with the completion of the first full month of Foreign Service employment.
  • Annual leave Up to 21 days paid at the end of each 12-month contract.
  • Travel will be provided by the employer to the employee’s home country.
  • Project Holidays: 10 paid holidays. New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday, President’s Day, Philippine Independence Day, USA Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day

  • Your Passport must be valid for at least 12 months, with at least 6 total blank visa pages remaining.
  • Updated covid and yellow fever vaccination certificate
