We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Salesman at a bus company in Mombasa. As a Salesman, you will play a crucial role in promoting our bus services and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Your primary responsibility will be to reach out to potential customers, build relationships, build networks, and persuade them to choose our services for their transportation needs. This shall boost top-line revenue growth, customer acquisition levels and profitability.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Present, promote and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers.
  • Perform cost benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
  • Reach out to customer leads through cold calling.
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction.
  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule.
  • Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments.
  • Analyze the territory/market’s potential, track sales and status reports.
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends.
  • Continuously improve through feedback
  • Conduct sales activities such as phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings to generate leads and close sales deals.
  • Provide information about our bus services, schedules, and fares to customers.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure seamless execution of sales and service delivery.
  • Regularly update and maintain customer database and sales records.

 

Requirements and skills

  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales.
  • Excellent selling, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs.
  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or diploma with experience and or a related field
  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in the transportation or tourism industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong persuasive and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the local market and competitors in the bus transportation industry.
  • Ability to handle and resolve customer complaints professionally.
