DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads the Hazardous Waste Storage Area (HWSA) Team and operations, Hazardous Waste Minimization (HAZMIN) Reissue program, processing, preparing, packaging and documentation for off-island shipment of HW and excess/expired HM.
- Leads the HWSA Oil and Hazardous Substances (OHS) Spill Response Team (SRT) as required and in compliance with all KBR and project Safety requirements.
- Responsible for collection, transportation, and packaging of Hazardous Waste (HW) and excess Hazardous Materials (HM) for sampling and lab profile analysis.
- Prioritize tasks to meet Annex reporting and deliverables requirements and deadlines.
- Maintains Weekly/Monthly/Annual reports as required in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint formats.
- Prepares Work Orders as needed and follow up until job completion.
- Provides technical advice to US Government and KBR-DG personnel as required and when tasked.
BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to convey information professionally and tactfully to individuals and clients.
- Proven ability to organize, prioritize and follow-through to completion on multiple tasks, under strict deadlines and changing priorities.
- Must possess excellent administrative, organizational, and computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point presentations.
- Guidance and leadership skills to manage junior HWSA personnel.
- Provides excellent customer service to support the Clients and Island Tenants.
- Ability to relate and communicate clearly junior personnel issues and questions to the Annex Manager
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and Operators License for minimum of 5k Forklift or other mechanical heavy Equipment (MHE).
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR TRAINING
- Oral and Written English Communication.
- Training and/or experience in the management of a HazMat/HazWaste facility, environmental compliance, sampling, and analyses of HazMat/HazWaste processes.
- Successful completion of 40-hour initial and current 8-hour annual refresher training that meets the Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER), Hazardous Waste (HW) Facility Operations and/or Management courses or equivalent Hazardous waste training requirements.
- Requisite training and qualification that meets or exceeds processing, packaging, shipping and certifying off-Island shipments of hazardous cargo.
EDUCATION:
- A minimum of two-year Diploma or BS degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry or other related discipline from an accredited university or college is preferred but not required. Work experience related to the position may be submitted for the education requirements.
EXPERIENCE:
- Shall have at least five (5) years environmental experience in the operations and management of Hazardous Materials and Hazardous Waste collection, transportation, storage and disposal facilities.
Basic terms of the job offer.
- Assignment Duration: 12 months. Renewal subject to performance and project status.
- Base Monthly Salary: 48 hours per week minimum work requirement: $800.40 (based on 48 hr. work week requirement)
- Working schedule: 48 hours per week (8 hours per day/6 days a week)
- Payroll period: Monthly. Amount give take home.
- Overtime: Work more than 8 hours per day or work performed on a rest day and/or holiday,
will be paid as overtime at the base salary rate.
- Accommodations: Housing, transportation, meals in-country, and laundry facilities are provided
- Sick Leave: Employee will accrue 2.67 hours of sick leave for each full month of service, beginning with the completion of the first full month of Foreign Service employment.
- Annual leave Up to 21 days paid at the end of each 12-month contract.
- Travel will be provided by the employer to the employee’s home country.
- Project Holidays: 10 paid holidays. New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday, President’s Day, Philippine Independence Day, USA Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day

- Your driver’s license must be valid for at least 6 months (unless processing for a CDL-required position, which will require 12 months remaining).
