OVERVIEW

Our client in the manufacturing sector with offices in Meru, Kitengela and Kerugoya is looking for an ambitious and highly skilled sales and marketing manager with a track record of exceptional and transformative sales management practices, especially in construction inputs or manufacturing.

Job role

The position is primarily responsible for ensuring sales and marketing requirements of the company are met.

 

Accountability/Reporting

The sales representative reports to the Managing Director.

 

Workstation

Meru town with oversight to all other branches

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day sales, monitoring, and forecasting to better understand the market
  • Continually assess our marketing techniques and their efficacy in achieving sales target
  • Work collaboratively with the sales team to assess and achieve sales projections
  • Own ultimate responsibility for successfully meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Collaborate with the entire team to creatively reach more potential customers
  • Take calculated risks to increase brand recognition and profitability
  • Work in a hands-on fashion, building by providing motivation and inspiration
  • Set the precedent for excellence through leading by example
  • Cultivate and deepen client relationships and partnerships that add value
  • Develop and monitor sales team performance through tracking, improvement, and incentive systems
  • Ensures efficient distribution of sales representative territories, team composition and daily/weekly task prioritization/planning
  • Create systems for routinely collecting customer and field team feedback to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Works closely with other team members to identify trends in customer behavior and explore causes through mixed methods of data collection.
  • Use a human-centered design approach to prototype potential solutions to identified problems, using clear metrics for measuring success.
  • Develop and execute an annual budgeted marketing plan based on prototype outcomes
  • Any other role that may be assigned by the management.

 

Educational requirements.

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales & marketing or any other business-related field
  • Professional training in sales, marketing and postgraduate qualifications will be an added advantage

 

Personal attributes and skills

  • 5+ years’ experience in management in a corporate setting
  • Familiarity with selling construction-related material or experience in manufacturing sector is highly preferred.
  • Transformative approach to leadership that inspires and empowers others
  • Aware of the latest market trends and shifts, as well as projections for the future
  • Evidence of ability to innovate and implement change successfully
  • Driven and committed to success while maintaining integrity
