Our client a multinational organization is urgently looking to fill vacancy for their port operation at Diego Garcia, Indian Ocean Island.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs maintenance, inspections and repairs on electrical equipment and components in the power plants using common, special tools and test equipment.
- Performs preventive maintenance and inspections on breakers, switchgear and related medium voltage equipment related to the power plants.
- Tests adjust breakers and relays on medium voltage systems.
- Removes and replaces failed parts and components, cleans contacts, adjusts and aligns motors.
- Operate and maintain the medium voltage electrical generation system.
- Perform other duties as assigned
BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Must be able to read, interpret blueprints and design and follow engineering drawings, specifications and instructions.
- Must have knowledge of electrical trade theory and follow the National Electrical Code.
- Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, bending, standing, climbing or walking.
- Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment.
- Must speak, read, and understand the English Language.
- Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.
- Must have a valid Non-Pro or Professional Driver’s License with at least Restriction Code 2.
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including on-call shifts
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR TRAINING
Completed TESDA course with the National Certifications is a plus:
- Diesel Power Plant Maintenance NC III
- Diesel Power Plant Operation and Maintenance NC II & III
- Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II, III & IV
- Plant Maintenance NC I, II, III
EDUCATION:
- Must be at least High school, Technical or Vocational school graduate is required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Must have successfully completed a 3-year apprenticeship program, and/or have at least 3-years of documented practical experience in power generation and electrical maintenance and repair.
Basic terms of the job offer.
- Assignment Duration: 12 months. Renewal subject to performance and project status.
- Base Monthly Salary: 48 hours per week minimum work requirement: $838.08 (based on 48 hr. work week requirement)
- Working schedule: 48 hours per week (8 hours per day/6 days a week)
- Payroll period: Monthly. Amount give take home.
- Overtime: Work more than 8 hours per day or work performed on a rest day and/or holiday,will be paid as overtime at the base salary rate.
- Accommodations: Housing, transportation, meals in-country, and laundry facilities are provided
- Sick Leave: Employee will accrue 2.67 hours of sick leave for each full month of service, beginning with the completion of the first full month of Foreign Service employment.
- Annual leave Up to 21 days paid at the end of each 12-month contract.
- Travel will be provided by the employer to the employee’s home country.
